The Project
Having been let down by another contractor BAM Construction turned to us to supply and install the external glazing elements. Inheriting a design and utilising the Technal MY & MX glazing systems the first step was to check the design was suitable – numerous structural modifications later the design intent stood and the façade started to take shape.
Large glass spans had to be achieved with minimal box sizes due to space restrictions – through our engineering expertise this was accomplished with little or no visual impact giving the client exactly what they wanted.
Extending the original West Yorkshire Playhouse, the striking new colourful city facing façade extends the original foyer areas offering improved access for patrons.
The building opened to the public in the autumn of 2018 and has since returned rave reviews winning numerous architectural design awards.
