The Project

The entrance to the ‘free world’… or at least the ‘free port’, this striking building is at the forefront of the major redevelopment of the Redcare steel works on Teesside. The first of many new developments on the site this striking gatehouse offers both security accommodation as well as welcoming conference and induction facilities for the site at large.

Being local to the site we were the clear choice to undertake the façade works incorporating sharp design and lighting to create a welcoming symbol to Teesside ‘next big thing’. Using Eternit Equitone cladding panels, Metal Technology glazing systems and Sika Sarnafil roofing membrane Entec wrapped the timber shell to certainly make a statement.

Opened to the public in early 2021 by Ben Houchen, Tees Valley Mayor who stated that ‘It’s fantastic to be able to officially open the doors to our brand-new gatehouse, which sets the tone for our modern, forward-looking Teesworks site and is sure to wow investors’.
