One of the ‘new breed’ of Premier Inn’s to include the Bar & Block Steakhouse’s we were again brought in again by Gilbert Ash to design, supply and install the cladding to a new build Premier Inn based in Sutton – this time though we were using Rockpanel and Equitone due to the gear shift to A2 fire rated cladding materials by Whitbread.
Shades of grey was once again the order of the day but this time a 2-tone approach with panels laid portrait to lengthen the façade and all mechanically fixed to keep in line with the product DOP fire certification.
The tight town centre site posed challenging with limited space and having to work off a scaffold – which is not ideal for large panel cladding facades. But we co-ordinated well and successfully completed the facade ready for it opening to the public in 2019.
Full roof capping’s finished the build off nicely along with matching soffits trimmed with aluminium and incorporating feature down lighting.
