The Project
Brought in by the main contractor to tackle multiple façade elements with varying complexities our experience and expertise allowed us to co-ordinate the relevant interfaces and materials to achieve a rather soothing match up.
The simplicity of lines of the Kingspan panels and Equitone boards coupled with the striking ‘Zinc Boz’ area over the main entrance area sets the building up nicely. The shades of grey is offset by the ‘genomic’ wall – a splash off colour that exactly replicates the DNA of Dr Jonathan Milner, the man who donated £5 million towards the construction of the building. Now not only immortalised in name but also in aluminium planks!
The build itself threw up some challengers, not least the distance to Bath. Coupled this with other subcontract issues not of our making, we stuck by the main contractor and delivered a façade fit that will keep it’s WOW factor for years to come.
On the south side of the University of Bath campus the building was opened in September 2018.
