The Project
Introduced to the client by a key supplier of our we were quickly brough on board to design, supply and install the external façade element and the single ply roof membrane to this extension to 3 exiting buildings in the historic city of Lincoln. A self-contained student accommodation unit for what is now a bustling university town.
The façade itself consisted of a combination of glazing, brick slip and aluminium cladding and had the challenge of trying to match in with the existing building adjacent whilst significantly improving the thermal performance of the overall scheme.
The roofs posed a different challenge with ‘laid to falls’ insulation on what was already a shallow roof structure. Along with the larger main roof several smaller roofs around the scheme added varying levels to the project with a central atrium roof with rooflights allowing light into the main circulation space of the building.
The building was completed in 2019 and has been such a success the client is now looking at phase 2 to expand the portfolio.
