Bringing a tired 90’s retail park back to life is no mean feat but that exactly what the new owners of this retail park wanted to do. By replacing the brick façade and dated shopfronts and canopies with large glass frontages and lightweight cladding in a variety of profiles and modern subtle colours this is exactly what they have done.
Completely removing the original shopfront and relacing with new frontages the challenge was to get the geometry of the profiled aluminium planks to work I with each other across the façade. Add to this the fact that areas were being released at different time meant that we couldn’t simply start at one end and work across – so strategic construction joints needed to be inserted into the façade but without being noticeable.
The new glass shopfronts allowed more light into the building and allowed the tenants to showcase their wares more vividly. Added to this small roof extensions to the existing roof areas, soffits and roof capping’s all in keeping with the main façade colour scheme.
Working with and around key retailers such as Boots, Next and Sport Direct, while welcoming the likes of Pure Gym, Five Guys and Flannels the re-vamp of this ‘out of town’ shopping experience was completed late 2022 to rave reviews and client satisfaction.
