Senior Designer (Facades/Cladding) – Thornaby, Stockton-On-Tees based (Please provide your CV below)
Salary – Negotiable, dependent on experience
- Work with the Technical Director / Design Manager to allocate, plan and implement design projects to program and budget.
- Undertake numerous projects at any one time, delegating responsibilities to junior design members / sub contract designers as required.
- Oversee at least 1 of the junior design team members on a daily basis.
- Assist in monitoring and checking work produced by junior / sub-contractor designers.
- Assist Technical Director / Design Manager in the training / mentoring of junior staff members along with suggesting and allocating suitable training for design team members.
- Monitor project design progress on a weekly basis, reporting progress back to the Design Manager as required.
- Ensure design quality is maintained and the designs produces are both economical and functional for implementation on site.
- Produce AutoCAD detail drawings for approval and working drawings for production purposes as part of the functioning design team.
- Have input in the anticipated durations of design works.
- Produce and implement design risk assessments if required.
- Offer input, suggestions and guidance to the design / site team to solve problems both at design and installation stage.
- Attend design meetings nationally when and where required.
- Be pro-active and adhere to deadlines.
- Knowledgeable of Cladding, Roofing and Curtain Walling systems. 5 years+ minimum experience.
- In depth knowledge of at least one element of façade design required with extensive product knowledge within those fields.
- Computer literate – must have a sound knowledge of AutoCAD, Excel, Word, Outlook.
- System software training / experience beneficial but not essential.
- 2 years’ + experience in an external envelope field.
- Minimum higher education – HNC / BA Degree (industry experience will be considered)
- Have good written & verbal communication skills.
Assistant Estimator (Facades/Glazing) – Thornaby, Stockton-On-Tees based (Please provide your CV below)
Salary – Negotiable, dependent on experience
- Compiling the relevant enquiry information: drawings / specifications Completing of client PQQ forms as required
- Monitor, log & update Estimating Enquiry Tracker (EET) as required.
- Download, log and arrange all relevant estimating information issued per enquiry.
- Update the Estimating Decline List and advise clients as required.
- Contact potential clients to chase projects and obtain estimating leads for the team
- Obtain supplier quotations – with direction.
- Assist with compiling of project quotations
- Tracking the status of quotations and chasing enquiries for new work
- With training – carrying out take-offs and producing BOQ’s

- Proficient with computers in particularly Excel, Word & Outlook

- Previous experience in a construction related role would be advantageous
- General construction knowledge (ONC / HNC in a construction discipline or working towards these qualifications)
- Minimum GCSE education – Maths & English (Grade C+) essential
- Be methodical and logical in approaching day to day tasks.
- Have a willingness to learn – to start with the tasks will be pretty menial but these will develop over time if the right attitude is shown.

- Undertake numerous elements of projects at any one time, liaising with clients, sub-contractors & other design team members as required
- Be the primary designer on smaller projects if required.
- Capable of producing material schedules for procurement purposes.
- Produce AutoCAD detail drawings for approval and working drawings for production purposes as part of the functioning design team.
- Offer input, suggestions and guidance to the design / site team to solve problems both at design and installation stage.
- Attend design meetings nationally when and where required.
- Be pro-active and adhere to deadlines.
- Knowledgeable of at least one of the external design elements (Cladding, Roofing, Curtain Walling). 2 years+ minimum experience.
